Your footage stays on your Mac.
Acecut reads your footage and audio on your own Mac. It never uploads them. The only things that leave are text and small still frames, and they go to the AI model you chose, under your own key. Run a local model and nothing leaves at all.
What stays on your Mac
- Your footage and audio. Every file is read where it sits. No footage or audio file is ever uploaded.
- The index. Transcripts, the shot log and search data live in a local database on your Mac.
- Your notes and rules. Acecut reads a notes folder you own. It stays on your disk.
- Your timelines. Cuts are built inside your copy of DaVinci Resolve, on new timelines.
What leaves, and where it goes
To plan a cut, Acecut sends your AI model the text it needs, such as transcripts, shot notes and your instructions, plus small still frames so it can see what is in a shot. That request goes straight from your Mac to the provider you picked, using your own key, under that provider's terms. Acecut and Kleen Vision Media do not receive or store it.
If you run a local model through Ollama, those requests stay on your Mac too.
What Acecut does not do
- No Acecut account and no sign-in.
- No analytics, usage tracking or crash reporting sent to us.
- No selling or sharing of anything, because we do not collect it.
